It’s been a very collaborative and creative year for us at Maramedia working with conservation charities and international colleagues on incredible and important stories in the natural world. Undertaking the story of the life’s work of elephant scientist, Iain Douglas – Hamilton in A Life Among Elephants (which premiered on ARTE in September). Showcasing the stunning wildlife of our own back yard in Scotland the New Wild (for Terra Mater and BBC Scotland – which transmitted on BBC2 in October with fantastic ratings) as well completing our single film on one of the most familiar birds in the world in The Pigeon Hustle in collaboration with Skyland (for WNET, ARTE and ORF).

The team have navigated the mix of projects and stories with real passion and tenacity to reveal the secrets and lives of people and nature across the globe. It’s safe to say this does not go unrecognised with nominations from Bafta Scotland and European Film Festivals, to a well-deserved win for our very own Fergus Gill, for Scotland the New Wild, at this year’s RTS Scotland Awards.

We work and collaborate with countless incredible people within this uniquely creative industry and are proud to know and continue our work with them all.
